ALOE VERA

INCI: ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE

Organically grown, highly concentrated aloe vera, along with high-quality, cold-pressed oils, forms the basis of our products. Cold-pressing preserves many of the active ingredients; we use no perfumes or synthetic preservatives. Shelf life is achieved through hygienic, sterile practices and airtight packaging. Our aloe formulas contain a root extract—a natural skin probiotic with antimicrobial properties against certain bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, among others.

How it works & benefits:
Aloe vera supports skin, hair, and scalp: it stimulates cell development and wound healing, inhibits inflammation, reduces pain and swelling, and promotes recovery from infections. Aloe vera contains vitamins C and E, zinc, and enzymes that help neutralize free radicals—contributing to healthier skin cells and faster repair of damaged cells. Aloe vera stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and connective tissue, which hydrates and slows skin thinning and wrinkling.

Origin & certification:
Our aloe comes from Mexico and is organically certified by Ecocert.

Vegetable oils at Aurora Dionis

At Aurora Dionis, we purposefully choose plant oils for their unique, scientifically documented lipid profiles that support the skin barrier and promote natural regeneration. Each oil offers its own balance of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and emollients—carefully selected for effectiveness, skin tolerance, and sensory experience.

Oils we use most often

  • MoringaMoringa Oleifera Seed Oil
  • CoconutCocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
  • PlumPrunus Domestica Seed Oil
  • Almond (Sweet Almond)Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil

Core benefits

  • Essential fatty acids (EFAs) – particularly linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid – replenish skin lipids, strengthen the barrier and reduce TEWL (transepidermal water loss).
  • Wax esters – found in abundance in jojoba; closely resemble human sebum, making them feel light and sebum-compatible.
  • Unsaponifiable fractions – including tocopherols (vitamin E), carotenoids, phytosterols and triterpenes – provide an antioxidant shield and a calming effect.

The result: balanced, supple skin that's better protected against oxidative stress (sun and environment) and feels comfortable. (Always combine with SPF during the day.)

Short oil profiles

  • Evening Primrose – rich in linoleic acid and γ-linolenic acid (GLA); soothes and supports the barrier for dry or easily irritated skin.
  • Jojoba – ~97% wax esters; biomimetic, lightweight, and non-sticky; helps maintain sebum balance.
  • Rosehip – high in essential fatty acids and carotenoids; absorbs quickly and brightens the complexion.
  • Shea Butter – rich in stearic and oleic acids; softens, nourishes and effectively locks in moisture.
  • Oat oil – contains tocopherols and avenasterol; particularly comfortable for (very) sensitive skin.
  • Moringa oil – exceptionally stable, with tocopherols and phytosterols; gives a silky finish.
  • Coconut oil – emollient that keeps the skin soft and supple.
  • Plum oil – luxurious texture, natural antioxidants; protects against oxidative stress.
  • Almond oil – soft, nourishing and pleasant for tight or dry skin.

Rich sources of unsaponifiables & micronutrients

  • Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables – rich in squalane-like triterpenes and phytosterols; provides a silicone-free, silky-smooth finish.
  • Shea Butter – contains triterpene alcohols and natural vitamin E; nourishing and soothing.
  • Rosehip Oil – provides β-carotene, tocopherols, and phytosterols; antioxidant and skin-brightening.
  • Oat Kernel Oil – tocopherols and phytosterols; supports a healthy barrier.
  • Moringa Oil – stabilizing, smoothing and protective.
  • Jojoba Oil – wax esters and tocopherols; seals lightly without weighing down.
  • Coconut extract/oil – polyphenols and tocopherols; additional emollient and antioxidant.
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E) – added for immediate antioxidant protection.
  • Bisabolol – a natural terpenoid with anti-irritant and calming effects.

Why Antioxidants Are Important

Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals that can damage collagen, elastin, and DNA. This supports the skin's natural healing process and protects it from daily environmental stress.

OUR ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

Hyaluronic acid

INCI: Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid (Halo Oligo / Low Molecular Weight)

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that can retain significant moisture (up to 100 times its own weight). It acts as a filler in the dermis, helping to retain moisture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving the skin's barrier function. Low-molecular weight (oligo-HA / Halo Oligo) penetrates the upper layers of the skin more easily for immediate hydration and comfort. Suitable for almost all skin types, including (very) sensitive skin; combines well with aloe, panthenol, and niacinamide. Apply to slightly damp skin and seal with a gel/oil/cream. Not to be confused with injectable fillers—topical HA hydrates and optically plumps.

Niacinamide

INCI: NIACINAMIDE

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is well-researched; it reduces free radicals, supports the barrier function, evens skin tone, and can reduce UV-induced pigmentation. Several studies show positive effects on skin texture and pigmentation. Use as a leave-on active (e.g., approximately 5%) for best results.

ROOT EXTRACTS & LACTOBACILLUS

INCI examples: COCOS NUCIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT · LACTOBACILLUS FERMENT / LACTOBACILLUS

The root extract (derived from radish and coconut) contains a blend of antimicrobial peptides. This peptide blend has been tested against microorganisms such as Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus brasiliensis and helps protect the skin. It also acts as a natural preservative that typically causes fewer allergic reactions than some other preservation methods—our aloe products have passed rigorous shelf-life testing.

We also use a fermented antimicrobial peptide (coconut + Lactobacillus)—traditionally used for various skin conditions. All root extracts are Ecocert-certified and non-GMO.

No. 10 Primrose Soap

Category: Cleaner (short & targeted)

INCI highlight: Saponified Oenothera biennis (Evening Primrose) Seed Oil

Core benefit: Gentle, quick cleansing with saponified evening primrose oil; supports a clean base without stripping — helpful for pigment-prone skin.

Why relevant for pigmentation: Research has linked saponified evening primrose oil to inhibiting melanogenesis and reducing UV-induced pigmentation (partly through tyrosinase inhibition). Rinse-off products support skin tolerance; visible pigment correction is primarily achieved through leave-on products and photoprotection.

Quick use: Lather in wet hands, massage gently into damp skin for a few seconds, do not allow to dry, rinse thoroughly. Moisturize immediately with No. 8 Hyaluronic Water or No. 3 Soothing Aloe Serum.

Note: This soap base is alkaline; for very sensitive or dry skin, use it for a shorter period of time and always follow with a moisturizing step.

Ingredient lexicon (short):
Saponified Oenothera biennis seed oil — plant-based fatty acid complex rich in linoleic acid/GLA; may inhibit melanogenesis and reduce UV hyperpigmentation; supports gentle cleansing without harsh degreasing.

Recommendation for pigmentation tendency (short):
Cleanse (briefly with No. 10) → Hydrate/uncify (No. 8) → Nourish/seal (No. 13 or light oil) → Protect (tinted SPF with iron oxides). Rinse-off: supportive; leave-on + SPF: decisive.

ABOUT HYALURONIC ACID

INCI: HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID

What is it?
Halo Oligo is low-molecular (oligo) hyaluronic acid that penetrates the upper layers of the skin faster for immediate hydration and a plumping effect. It's vegan, fragrance-free, microplastic-free, and silicone-free.

Why we use it:

  • Instant plump & comfort: optically reduces fine lines.
  • Barrier support combined with soothing substances.
  • Suitable for (very) sensitive skin and dehydration.
  • Synergy with niacinamide, panthenol and aloe.

How to use:
Gently cleanse → 1–2 pumps of serum/essence onto slightly damp skin → seal with No. 13 or an oil/cream → apply SPF during the day.

FAQ short:
No, topical HA is not a filler. Low-molecular-weight HA can irritate in high doses; we formulate it mildly and recommend patch testing for highly reactive skin.
